Description
Here we have a blue and green bordered patterned dish, which we have called ‘The Riverside’.
This is a unique piece of glassware for several reasons: its centre is a riot of blue and green patterns, which bring to mind river reeds and plants (hence its name); it is a thick, 9mm piece and from the side, you can see three distinct layers of glass: spring green, white and Caribbean blue; the top of the dish is a gorgeous deep blue, whereas the underside of the dish is a rich, vibrant spring green.
With all these layers, it means the glass looks different from all angles, which we think makes it really special.
I remember, years ago, (well, OK, decades), my home economics tutor saying ‘blue and green should never be seen’. Well, this dish shows she was talking nonsense.
Piece measures 23cm in length, 12cm in width and 2.5m depth.
