This is another strip construction dish. This one uses two different types of glass: an opaque and a reactive clear. Reactive glasses create interesting effects: when it reacts against another glass, a different colour appears at the interface. In this piece, when you look at it from above, it looks like blue and clear glass stripes. However, when viewed from the side, the interface of the two glasses is red, which means the piece looks blue and red striped instead.
We fusers love reactive glasses because it introduces another dimension into what we create.
This piece measures 15cm x 16.5cm. It is 9mm thick.
