The Aftermath

This dish is an eclectic mix of blue and orange, opal and transparent glass. To us, it looks like the aftermath of a huge blast in space – hence its name. A visual stunner.

This dish is a lovely mix of bright orange and blue, in opal and transparent glasses. It is made using a variation on the ‘pattern bar’ technique. Glass is stacked, in mixed widths, over a triangular mould. As the kiln heats, the glass slowly melts and drips into the mould, creating this gorgeous mix of swirling, vibrant colour. The block is then cut into pieces, reassembled in the kiln and brought to full fuse. Dishes made this way can never be the same so this dish is definitely one-of-a-kind.

Measures approximately 20x20cm.
