Here we have ‘Hearts of Silver’ glass trinket dish, which we have made with a rich, red opal glass. The hearts are made from silver foil which reacts chemically with the elements in red glass. The reaction happens around the edges of the hearts, creating a black outline. This makes them stand out more and gives the dish a lovely finish.
As for trinket dishes, if you wear jewellery, it’s a handy little item to have by the bed. I don’t know about you but I often forget I have earrings in and when I put my head on the pillow, they dig in my skin. But I’m nice and warm! I don’t want to get back out of bed and put my earrings away. Problem is, if I leave them on the bedside table, either I or the cat will knock them off the table and they’ll be lost. The solution? Of course! A trinket dish. Which takes care of them until you are actually ready to get out of bed, preferably after 8 hours of good sleep.
