Holly Berry Red Glass Candle bridge

Here at Black Cat Glass Designs’ HQ, we love a bit of luxury on our Christmas table. We like candlelight, fairy lights, gold chocolate coins and gold stars scattered across the table. This gorgeous candle bridge stands centre-stage amongst it all.

Our candle bridge undergoes three separate firings in the kiln.  Firstly, the red glass and a sheet of clear glass, are fused together – this is called a ‘blank’. For the second firing, the cut holly leaves and berries are tack-fused onto the blank. A tack-fuse is a lower temperature fuse – just enough for the leaves and berries to fuse to the glass, but keep their texture. Finally, the last firing is the slump where the blank is heated into a mould, to get its final shape.
