Here we have a pink and purple shallow glass bowl, which we’ve named ‘Nouveau Pink‘ because it reminds us of the style of the Art Nouveau period. This bowl is created from a variety of shades of pink and purple glasses, and a soft grey–blue.
Each piece of hand-cut glass is first edged with black powder and fused, before we assemble into its final layout and then fuse it again. This gives each piece a sharp line to create a stunning contrast between colours and in some cases, within colours.
After fusing, the bowl is slumped into a ball mould, which creates a shallow shape with no flat bottom. We feel this adds to the ‘flow’ of the overall piece.
Finally, we finish the bowl with a sandblast to create a lovely, soft matte finish. It is then coated to repel oils so no matter how many times it’s handled, you won’t see your fingerprints all over it (after all, life is too busy and too short to constantly clean…) Want to clean it anyway? Just wipe it over with a soft, dry cloth.
‘Nouveau Pink‘, purple and pink shallow glass bowl is 26.5cm in diameter, and has a 5cm depth.
We will send this bowl out to you in sturdy packaging, fully wrapped in padding, and packed to prevent movement in transit.
