This yellow and purple patterned glass plate is another addition to our ‘Plaids’ collection. We have called it ‘Lavender in Plaid‘. I have made this piece with opal glass stringers (think glass spaghetti!) in 12 shades of purple, pink and yellow. It is backed with opaque white glass. This plate is not high gloss, but not fully matte, either. It actually has a ‘satin’ finish, which is somewhere between the two.
The pattern is almost holographic, similar in style to our ‘Sunflowers in Plaid’ – (see here). The pattern looks very much like a tweed cloth, hence the name. The colours purple and yellow are complementary on the colour wheel and the eagle-eyed amongst you will have spotted that they are also our brand colours. Obviously, we think that’s a good thing!
Whilst this is a much softer-coloured version of this collection, Lavender in Plaid, yellow and purple glass plate, is still a statement piece and a feast for the eyes. It appears to change each time you look at it.
Lavender in Plaid measures 28cm x 28cm, and is a gently, sloping plate.
There is a smaller piece in these colours. You can find it here.
